10 Fabulous October Finds

I can’t believe it’s already October and we’ve already landed on my favorite month of the year. From autumn’s gorgeous foliage to celebrating our anniversary and my birthday, to the first cozy evenings curled up by a fire, I’m so excited for everything this month brings. I wore the outfit above for dinner at the Double Red Duke in the Cotswolds and this pub was our favorite meal of the trip – so much so we extended our stay and ate here twice! The pointelle henley sweater is really pretty and flattering, and I like wearing it with these wide-leg corduroy pants, balancing out the volume on the bottom with a more fitted top. There are lots of fun new pieces coming out in the fall collections so here’s a roundup of recent finds that caught my eye.

  1. Mark Cross Shoulder Bag – I’ve been a long time Mark Cross enthusiast, and they’re going through a bit of a rebrand at the moment. I’m obsessed with their new collection of bags, especially the Romy silhouette, which is available in a shoulder bag and chic clutch version. Their bags are always an investment, but they are also completely timeless so you know you’re adding a piece to your collection that can be enjoyed for years to come. 2. A lux necklace – I added this tennis bracelet and this chic pair of drop earrings from Dorsey to my jewelry box last month and I wear them so often I’m now eyeing a tennis necklace. The little bit of sparkle really lights up your face, and brightens falls darker colors and would layer beautifully with my favorite pendant necklaces.
  3. A gorgeous red coat – a bold red coat is a surprising staple throughout fall and the holidays and last year I was on the hunt for a new one but found there weren’t many available. This year more brands are offering bold red options and I’m excited to find one for myself. This one and this one (40% off this weekend!) are at the top of my list!
  4. Plaid everything – Plaid is to autumn what florals are to spring and summer and finding a new plaid piece just makes me so happy. I’ve been wearing these affordable flannel shirts (I own it in two colors!) nonstop while hanging out at home, and just ordered this plaid jacket which will make even the simplest sweater + jeans combo perfectly autumnal. Similarly, I own this cape in a beautiful olive, but saw they just came out with an English Plaid version – love!
  5. A sweater dress or two – Sweater dresses are effortlessly chic and so comfortable. I’ll be packing this one (runs true to size!) to pair with my favorite riding boots for a fall foliage trip next week, and bought this one last year and can’t wait to wear it again!
  6. Suede sneakers – We do a lot of hiking in the fall with our dog Darcy, and these sneakers will be the perfect throw-on-and-go pair for our outdoor adventures, but still look respectable if we go out to eat after the hike. These are sold out in most places, but shockingly available in all sizes and on sale here!
  7. A chic phone case – I’ve been toting a bright blue silicone phone case ever since I upgraded my phone almost a year ago and every time I look at it I think I have to replace it with something less obnoxious. I discovered this woven one through @habituallychic and I’m waiting for mine to arrive. (I bought the burgundy.)
  8. Gucci Horsebit Flats – specifically the oxblood color is calling to me. I purchased these in two sizes because I wasn’t sure of the fit, but went with the larger size. I love leaning into equestrian pieces this time of year, and my horse bit pieces are some of my favorite investments of all time – like these loafers and the shoulder bag I’m wearing above.
  9. Brushed Cashmere – This “brushed” cashmere looks like a cloud and is perfect for wrapping up in on chilly fall evenings! I’m eyeing the gray and love the subtle cable knit pattern adds interest to a classic silhouette.
  10. Statement Boots – Sarah was wearing these beautiful olive booties in Ireland and I instantly fell in love with them for upgrading casual looks. I’m also thinking I need to add these pointed toe knee high boots knee high boots to my wardrobe and can’t decided between the espresso suede and black leather! I think you’e convinced me to purchase that lovely Sezane sweater! Love how you styled it with the chocolate brown corduroy trousers. Also, I’m wondering/hoping you have some sizing tips for the Tagliatore coat. I know you’ve spoken about the brand before, and any insight about size, especially for that particular style, would be helpful! Thanks! & Happy October 🍁

Hi Anna, You’ll love this sweater! As for the Tagliatore coat sizing, it depends on the coat style, I have a wrap coat from them that is an IT 40 and it fits just how I like it. However I bought another double breasted coat from them in size IT40 and it was much too large! I ordered the red one and will report back when I’ve confirmed sizing! xx Stacie

Thank you! I was interested in the ‘Molly’ style, and was leaning towards 40. I’ll look forward to hearing how you like the fit of the red one you just purchased. (And I just placed my order for the Sezane jumper, thanks again for the inspiration!)
