Wanted to share a sneak peek of our living room before a full reveal later this month! I was making great progress before we went into lockdown and since returning to NYC we’ve been installing pieces that arrived while we were away. The core elements of this vignette (sofa, console table, and ottoman) have been with us through four apartments, and you can see them in our first Manhattan apartment here, first San Francisco apartment here, and second SF apartment here. Pick pieces you truly love you’ll always find a place for them, and be able to adapt them to your changing locations and floor plans. With that said, here’s a little decor update and sneak peek before the big reveal.
I really love the addition of this mirror from Serena and Lily in our current iteration. Serena and Lily’s collection is my go-to source for fresh, coastal decor and their mirror selection is always on point. This bamboo number has such a fun silhouette and really opened up this side of our living room. I also have one of their full-length mirrors in our bedroom – and if you messaged me after seeing it in stories get excited because it is available again!
Serena and Lily just launched their big annual tent sale and you can get an extra 15% off through 7/16 with code “funfind”! My favorites include this shell tray (on my coffee table and currently 50% off!), this embroidered pillow, these sheets, these dining chairs, this butlers tray and this coffee table!
When taking these photos I realized that the mirror didn’t quite fill such a big wall and I plan on hanging a few flow blue plates above it. Other elements like these pleated shades (have them custom made to your size and specifications through this shop on etsy!), a pile of coffee table books, and the chunky weave of a large basket (that holds wood for our fireplace) cozy up this corner.
Throw blankets (and pillows!) are a low commitment way to infuse a lot of bold color into your space and easy to change out and store. I’m waiting on a few custom pillows to arrive before I share the whole room but swapping out our wintery navy blanket for this cheerful bright blue throw really brightened up this corner. While I generally like cotton or linen throws for summer, the bright hue and beautiful weave of this one make it a 4 season staple. (Plus it’s alpaca, which is insanely soft and always seems to keep me to perfect temperature when I’m wrapped up in it!) My only caution is the weave is delicate, so if you have little children they may poke a few holes in it! Links to everything pictured below, and more to come next week!
